Vicki Zylstra teaches Effective Classroom Management Strategies.

Vicki Zylstra is a high school business education instructor at Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in Sibley, Iowa. She teaches courses in computer applications, advanced computer applications, business technology, advanced business technology, Web Design I and II, and introduction to business.

During the past several years Vicki has been instrumental in training and licensing high school students and teachers in use of the Internet. She has also taught staff development computer and technology courses for Area Education Agency 4 as well as led many inservice technology training sessions in the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.

Vicki received her B.A. degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and her Master of Science degree in Business Education from Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. She has taught at Sibley-Ocheyedan for 20 years.

Vicki’s expertise in classroom management has been developed through many years of teaching students of every age as well as teachers. She enjoys the challenge of improving organization, procedures, and climate in the classroom; researching teaching and learning styles; as well as developing new assessment tools. With the implementation of these management tools over the years, Vicki has developed an exemplary classroom management style.

Vicki lives with her husband and three children on an acreage where she enjoys taking care of the lawn and flowers. When she isn’t working, she is attending and taxiing her children to their many and varied activities. Her hobbies include reading and cooking.
