Sara Turansky teaches E-Learning for Educators.
Sara has been using online elements in her classes since 2002 and has been teaching online for the past three years. As a powerful role model, Ms. Turansky uses Web-based technology to provide opportunities for intellectually stimulating discussions in her online classes while encouraging individuals to share different ideas and understandings. Her ability to energize and inspire diverse online audiences fosters a cooperative learning environment among students in her courses.
Sara graduated magna cum laude from Western Michigan University and earned a Master of Arts in Education with concentration in mathematics from Western Michigan University. She completed a second Masters degree in Online Teaching and Learning from California State University/Hayward in 2003.
Sara has taught middle school for the past twenty-two years and recently designed and implemented an online pre-algebra curriculum for seventh and eight grade students. Currently, Sara is a resource facilitator in the high school at the American Community School, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This position allows her to give extra one-on-one or small-group help to students struggling in math.
Sara was honored to win the prestigious Blue Web'n award for one of her web-based curriculum projects, Eating Disorders: A Webquest for Seventh and Eighth Grade.
