MS and EDS-CTE Students,

Happy New Year to you all! There is a lot going on for MS and EDS students in Career and Technical Education.

~~New MS and EDS Cohort~~

We will be starting a new cohort in Southwest Wisconsin in the Fall of 2008. If you know of anyone interested in graduate degrees, send them the link below:

There are several weekend courses being offered this summer for EDS students, and they WILL NOT be offered again until the Summer of 2010.

EDUC-816 Instrumentation for Research (3 Cr)
Schedule: June 27/ 28, July 11/12 and August 1/2:Friday 5 -9Pm, Saturday 9am - 5Pm

CTE -746 Policy and Legal Issues in CTE (2 Cr)
Schedule: June 20/21, July 18/19, and July 25/26: Friday 6-9, Saturday 5 - 9Pm

Special Announcements in UW-Stout CTE

Albreacht Committee
Brian Albreacht completed his final EDS oral and will graduate January 2008. His Committee members included Dr. Juliann Taylor, Dr. Carol Mooney and Dr. Howard Lee.

Michelle Radtke, MS in CTE student recently passed the National Board Certification.  Only 109 teachers in Wisconsin have achieved this distinction.

Stout University Foundation Scholarship Opportunities

All faculty and staff members are asked to share the following scholarship information with students and encourage them to submit an application.

The Stout University Foundation scholarship application for the 2008-09 academic year is available online. The Foundation awards scholarships totaling more than $600,000 annually for undergraduate and graduate students.

National Career and Technical Education Week

The Stout Community Association for Career and Technical Education (SCACTE)
will meet on February 14 at 6:30 a.m. at the Tuscan Grill (Menomonie). At
this breakfast, student organization representatives from Stout and Menomonie
will share their activities.

School of Education Student Ambassador Program
Upcoming Recruitment Drive

The SOE Student Ambassador Program is for students who are dedicated to serving and representing the School of Education and their education program.  The students selected will help to recruit new students, host official functions and VIP events, and act as student liaisons with the various communities that SOE serves. One student per undergraduate and graduate program will be selected to serve as an ambassador during the 2007-2008 year.
