Outreach - Early Childhood Education in Hayward, WI

In Partnership

UW-Stout's School of Education is dedicated to cultivating partnerships with other institutions and communities in order to provide high quality educational opportunities for students throughout Wisconsin.

In partnership with the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Community College and the Lac Courte Oreilles Head Start of Hayward, WI, UW-Stout's School of Education and Distance Education offices offer the Early Childhood Education program remotely to a cohort of students to complete their B.S. Early Childhood Education degrees.

Our Students

The cohort group, many of whom are current Early Childhood Education providers and teachers in the Hayward, WI region, take classes with UW-Stout instructors and work with UW-Stout staff members throughout their academic progress.

This program provides a flexible educational opportunity in order to meet their academic needs while taking into consideration the multiplicity of roles they play as full-time teachers and full-time family heads-of-households.

External Funding Support

Through external grants, such as the Teacher Recruitment & Retention Initiative Grant from the UW-System, cohort students are advised and supported by an on-site UW-Stout Site Coordinator/Advisor, Thelma Nayquonabe.
