Plan to meet with your faculty advisor at least once per semester to review your progress and plan your course schedule.
The School of Education has adopted a Teacher Education Performance-Based Assessment System to ensure that all teacher candidates possess the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required for successful careers. (Students who are eligible and have received an individualized Post-Baccalaureate Non-Degree Add-On Certification Plan have met Benchmark I requirements.)
Students should apply for Admission to Student Teaching (Benchmark II) at the beginning of the semester prior to your requested placement. A portfolio assessment is conducted and successful completion of the Praxis II is required (if applicable) prior to student teaching. Information needed to proceed through Benchmark II can be found online.
