Graduate Benchmark Information
The UW-Stout School of Education Assessment System is designed so that graduate candidate progress is reviewed at various points and data is gathered from multiple assessment measures. Benchmark I is acceptance into the graduate program. Benchmark II is a review of progress, and Benchmark III is final review and program completion including completion of your professional development plan and research project.

Benchmark I: 
Acceptance into the program

  • Appropriate BS degree
  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or greater
  • Statement of goals
  • Review of Graduate Office
  • Review by Program Director
  • Professional Development Plan  (completed in Issues in Education course)

Benchmark II: 
Review of Progress

At 15 credits:

  • Review GPA
  • Review transcript
  • Dispositions – if applicable
  • Professional Development Plan self analysis and reflection

Benchmark III:
Final Review

  • Review  transcript
  • GPA
  • Reflective summary of Professional Development Plan
  • Research paper
