Lot locations for permits

Each UW-Stout parking permit provides the option to park in a specific series of parking lots.  With the exception of reserved parking, space in a specific parking lot isn't assured.  Rather, a space is available in one of the series of lots available to each permit.

Permit Types

A-Permit: Valid Lots

Campus Map

  • The signed, reserved space in your "home" lot
  • In any campus commuter space except the C-spaces in your "home" lot

B-Permit: Valid Lots

    • Directly south of Fleming Hall
    • Enter from Third Ave. W. near Fleming Hall
  • Lot 9
    • West of Red Cedar Hall
    • Enter from either 3rd St. W. or Second Ave. W.
  • Lot 11
    • West of Red Cedar Hall
    • Enter from Third Ave. just west of 3rd St. W.
  • Lot 12
    • West of Red Cedar Hall
    • Enter from 2nd Avenue
  • Lot 22
    • Northwest of Red Cedar Hall
    • Enter from First Ave W.at just west of 4th St. W.
  • Lot 32
    • Directly north of Red Cedar Hall
    • Enter from 3rd St. W. just south of First Ave. W.

C-Permit: Valid Lots

A C-Permit is valid in the following lots/areas.  Commuter permits are valid in a standard (unsigned) space, and vehicles should be parked fully within stall markings.  Please note that C-Permits are not valid in Housing parking lots.  Overnight (2AM-7AM) parking is prohibited in commuter lots.  If you need to park overnight contact Parking Services for assistance.

    • Enter from Wilson Ave 1/2 block east of 3rd St. E.
  • Lot 10
    • North of Home Ec at the corner of 4th St. E. and Ninth Ave.
    • Enter from 4th St. E.
    • Note:  4th St. E. is one-way, south so access to Lot 10 is from Wilson Ave.
  • Lot 14
    • On Broadway from the Administration Building to Millennium Hall
    • Enter from Broadway, south of Admin, or Tenth Ave. one block east of Broadway
  • Lot 18
    • East of Jarvis Hall
    • Enter from Tenth Ave near Jarvis Hall
  • Lot 20
    • Near Student Health
    • Enter from First Ave. across from Wigen Hall
  • Lot 21
    • Near Student Health
    • Enter from First Ave. across from Wigen Hall
  • Lot 24
    • On Tenth Ave. east of the Home Ec Building
    • Enter from either Tenth Ave or Ninth Ave
  • Lot 27
    • On Broadway directly south of General Services
    • Enter from either Broadway (across from Tenth Ave) or 2nd St. W.
  • Lot 29
    • On Thirteenth Ave east of the Sports & Fitness Center and south of Applied Arts
    • Enter from Thirteenth Ave. near Applied Arts
  • Lot 30
    • On Broadway directly north of the University Services Building
    • Enter from Broadway just north of University Services
  • Lot 34
    • On Thirteenth Ave. directly east of Applied Arts.
    • Enter from either Thirteenth Ave. or 6th St. E.
    • NOTE: Lot 34 is a main campus housing lots but commuter permits are valid during non-overnight hours.

D-Permit: Valid Areas

  • Signed disabled spaces are available in every campus parking lot
  • D-permits are also valid in a standard (unsigned) space in either a commuter or housing parking lot.
  • Please note that, unlike municipalities, UW-Stout disabled permits are not valid in meters.
  • UW-Stout disabled permits are not valid in municipal metered or signed spaces
  • Providing accessible parking is important.  If our current availability is not meeting your needs please contact Parking Services for assistance.

M-Permit: Valid areas

  • Motorcycle permits are valid in signed cycle pads (areas noted on campus maps)
  • Moped permits are valid in signed cycle pads, moped only areas and bicycle racks around residence halls only.
  • Please note that cycle permits are not valid in vehicle parking spaces
  • Overnight parking is only available in housing cycle areas

P-Permit: Valid Locations

  • Press permits are valid in a standard (unsigned) parking space in any university lot
  • Other areas may be available when authorized by Parking Services
  • Please note that Press permits are not valid in any signed (reserved) space or a meter

R-Permit: Valid Locations

  • S-permits are also valid in a standard (unsigned) space in either a commuter (C) or housing (B & Y) parking lot.
  • Valid in signed service areas/receiving docks for a maximum of 30 minutes
  • Service parking in other areas or for longer duration is available upon authorization from Parking Services.
  • Caution:  Service permits are not valid in signed reserved spaces or meters.

Y-Permit:  Valid Locations

  • Lot 15
    • Corner of 11th Ave and 3rd St. W.
    • Enter from 3rd St. W. just south of 11th Ave.
  • Lot 17
    • Corner of 11th Ave and 2nd St. W.
    • Enter from either 2nd St. W. or 11th Ave.
  • Lot 34
    • On 13th Ave directly east of Applied Arts
    • Enter from either 13th Ave. or 6th St. E.


BC-Permit:  Valid Locations

  • The BC permit is valid in north campus housing lots (B-Permit) and main campus commuter lots (C-Permit) during the day.

NC-Permit:  Valid Locations

  • The NC permit is valid in reserved north campus housing areas in either Lot 21 or Lot 32 as well as main campus commuter lots (C-Permit) during the day.
