Commuter Student Permit Application

Registration Instructions



First:  Verify that you're on the right page.  This page is ONLY for commuter students(you live in off-campus housing).

It is important that students read the brief instructions below.  Incomplete or misdirected applications are not processed.

Registration Timeline


  • FALL SEMESTER
    • Commuter permit applications are accepted beginning in June .
    • On-line applications end on August 17.  After that time you should stop into the Parking Office to purchase your permit.
  • SPRING SEMESTER
    • On-line registration is available through the second week of January
    • Permits are available in the Parking Office for those who did not register on-line

A few key points


  1. You may only apply for a single parking permit for your own personal use.  Multiple applications may result in disqualification.  Permit-sharing arrangements should be noted in the form's comments section and every driver should be listed.  Registrations for the wrong status may result in your not receiving a permit.
  2. Complete, accurate information is important.  If you do not know any part of the requested information, explain in the comments section.
  3. The permit cost will be added to your student billing.
  4. All contacts after we receive your application will be to your UW-Stout e-mail account.
