Staff Year Permit

University faculty and staff should purchase and display their parking permit prior to the beginning of the permit year. Permit renewal/registration may be accomplished conveniently from this web. A payroll deduction option is available.

Student Commuter

Commuter students (living off campus) should purchase and display their parking permit prior to parking on campus.

 Residence Hall Year Permits 

  • Continuing residence hall students will receive first priority for permits through their application deadline.
  • After allocation of permits to continuing students, permits will be made available to new students through a lottery. Students who submit a lottery application will be informed of their status by e-mail prior to their arrival on campus.
  • New students will receive application instructions by mail in late June.

Week Permits

  • Students who bring a vehicle to campus infrequently may purchase a week permit for only those weeks when they drive.

Day Permits

  • Students are eligible to purchase a day permit for their use or that of a visitor.

Disabled Permits

Disabled parking permits are available for those with the need for accessible parking. Disabled parking information is available on this web site.

Visitor/Guest

Every parking user, including visitors must display a valid permit. Visitor/Guest permits are available from Parking Services.

Guests may stop by Parking Services prior to parking to purchase a one day visitor permit although prior permit purchase by the university host is strongly recommended.

Campus departments should contact Parking Services prior to inviting a guest to obtain a departmental guest permit. Campus departments are strongly encouraged to mail the permit to their guest prior to his/her arrival on campus.

Attending a Meeting or Event

If you are attending a meeting or event, the event organizers should have reserved parking prior to the event and provided parking information in their literature/publicity. If you're unsure about where to park, contact your event's organizer for that information. If an event organizer has not reserved campus parking, you must locate a metered space or a legal space on a city street.

Loading/Unloading Permit

University Service areas are strictly regulated for authorized usage.

You may load/unload from a meter or a lot where your permit is valid.

If you must unload from another area, you must stop into Parking Services to pick up a short term loading/loading permit prior to loading/unloading.

Occasionally, very short term unloading can be arranged with a phone call. Again, authorization must be obtained prior to parking.

Service Permit

A Service permit is available to external service providers. If your agency or business is on campus frequently to provide services, contact Parking Services to inquire about a Service parking permit.

Student School Break Permits

Regular school year permits are not valid during the semester break, spring break, and August break. Students who will be leaving a vehicle on campus during those times must contact Parking Services about obtaining a special Break Period Permit.

Break permits are available at no additional cost to current permit holders.

Spring Semester Permits

Spring semester housing permits are available but only for south campus lots. North campus housing residents will receive a south campus parking assignment.
