Philosophy Statement & Community Standards

Philosophy Statement

Student conduct rules governed by state law and are found in three chapters of the University of Wisconsin System Administrative Code which apply statewide to all University of Wisconsin campuses and students. These are commonly referred to as UWS Chapter 14 (academic conduct), UWS Chapter 17 (non-academic conduct), and UWS Chapter 18 (conduct on University lands). Each UW campus implements these rules through its own principles, guidelines and procedures.

The UW-Stout community has developed a set of principles, guidelines and rules with which students are required to comply. These rules exist for the purpose of creating an environment that supports student development and learning, and fosters a community that is safe from violence, and free from harassment, fraud, theft, disruption and intimidation.
