UW-Stout Faculty Research Initiative (FRI) Grants Program
The purpose of the UW-Stout Faculty Research Initiative (FRI) Grant Program is to assist faculty members in initiating research, scholarly, and creative activities that have potential for becoming continuing programs supported by extramural funds. Faculty who are first-time investigators or more established faculty who are interested in pursuing new areas or directions of research are eligible to apply. Research involving undergraduate and graduate students is encouraged.

UW-Stout Professional Development Grant Programs
To help foster faculty and academic staff professional development, UW-Stout has two professional development grant programs. The Traditional Professional Development Grant program which focuses on larger, planned professional development activities and the Just-in-Time Professional Development Grant program which provides a just-in-time response for professional development activities that arise outside the normal grant cycle.
For FY07, total funding levels for the Traditional Professional Development Grant Program are still pending. $12,140 has been allocated for the Just-in-Time Professional Development Grant Program
Research Services deadline: October 1 for activities that occur between January 1 and June 30 and March 1 for activities that occur between July 1 and June 30.

Merle Price Faculty and Academic Staff Awards For Excellence
Merle Price provided more than 40 years of service to UW-Stout and had a significant impact upon countless students. As a faculty member and Dean of Men, Merle Price exemplified a deep commitment to the welfare of students. In his name, the McCord Family Trusts have funded an annual award for outstanding service by academic staff and tenure-track or tenured faculty.
