UW-Stout Curricular Incubation Center

Proposals:  Due Date is May 15, 2008

To Research Services (rssubmissions@uwstout.edu)

This concept of the Center stems from University Priorities identified as part of the annual planning process. The purpose of the Center is to accelerate the development of curriculum in high priority areas.

The focus of this year's cycle of funding is to advance the development of the undergraduate and graduate degree programs and subprograms (minors, specializations, concentrations, certifications) that are included in the UW-Stout academic plan http://www.uwstout.edu/provost/currhb/accplan.htm.

Individuals or groups of faculty/instructional academic staff may apply to receive funding from the Center.

Application for funding should include the need for the project, intended outcomes, specific activities, timeline and resources needed. Individuals or groups may request the following resources from the Center:  release time (department will receive replacement costs), summer session salary, travel funds, student help, and service and supplies. Projects may request up to $8,000.

Individuals or groups may receive funding for the Summer Session. A final report is due to the Provost by August 31, 2008. Those receiving funding from the Center must complete their proposed projects in the approved timeline. All proposed projects must be pre-approved by Department Chairs and Deans prior to campus routing by Research Services through a letter of support. The Associate Vice Chancellor will supervise all Center activities. Curriculum developed must be able to be implemented on campus without additional 102-funded faculty positions.

Learning Technology Services staff will assist with instructional design and online course development. Research Services will assist with proposal and budget development. All proposals must be routed through Research Services. Please use the format below as the basis for proposals.
