Requirements
for Continuing
in a Teacher Education Program
The
Office of Teacher Education carefully monitors the academic progress
of all students with a declared major in education to insure that Wisconsin
Department of Public Instruction requirements have been satisfied.
Teacher education students begin fulfilling their requirements for Acceptance
into Teacher Education Program-Benchmark I as they take their first
40 credits. These credits will include completion of an Introduction
Program Course, Foundations of Education Course, a written, personal
philosophy of education, a Technology Course and the required English
and speech courses.
Students will not be accepted into Teacher Education Program Benchmark
I until they have passed the PPST in reading, writing and math, have
minimum of 2.75 cumulative GPA, have an electronic portfolio on the
WEB and passed the background check.
