To Add a Course or Courses



Add Procedure

You may process your add on Access Stout or fill out a Program Card and bring it to 109 Bowman Hall for processing. The instructor’s signature is required for all closed classes. Beginning the first day of the term, instructor’s signatures are required for all classes. When the add is processed, you are then registered for the course. Be sure to check the synonym, course code and section number. You could be erroneously added to a section which you are not attending and be graded accordingly.

Program Cards are available at the Registration and Records Office, 109 Bowman Hall.

Fall 2004: March 31, 2004 – September 16, 2004
Spring 2005: October 27, 2003 – February 4, 2005

 

Registration Credit Limit
Undergraduate Students with the exception of graduating seniors, are restricted to 18 credits prior to the late registration period. Seniors graduating at the end of the semester, are allowed to register for a maximum of 20 credits if the additional credits are required to graduate. This policy will be altered as enrollment limitations dictate at the discretion of the provost/vice chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs.

 

Credit Load Restrictions
Beginning August 28, for Fall 2003 and January 17 for Spring 2005 students may add credits up to the following maximums:

  • Undergraduate Students: 20 Credits
  • Graduate and Dual Level* Students: 16 Credits
    *Seniors carrying graduate-level courses for graduate credit.

Undergraduate Students may carry more than 20 credits, if extenuating circumstances require it, and if your Program Director approves. Written approval must be on file in the Registration and Records Office each semester. The credit overload form can be obtained from the Registration and Records Office.

Graduate Students may carry a maximum of 16 credits a semester. Requests for an exception in special circumstances should be transmitted to the appropriate Program Director. For more information, refer to the Student Handbook on the World Wide Web.

 

Independent Study and Field Experience
Students should report to the assistant dean’s office of the college housing the course. These registrations must be completed in the Registration and Records Office by: October 28 for Fall 2004 and March 25 for Spring 2004.
