Revising a Submajor* or Course Sequence
* Submajors include minors and concentrations
Consult with the associate vice chancellor before beginning the process to be sure the format is used appropriately and that the process is followed completely.
In the following steps, "revision" includes the addition of a concentration.
- Initiator
Develops a rationale for the curriculum change. Brings it to the program director for a major program, or to the appropriate department and college dean for a submajor.
- For revision to major:
If program director and program committee agree with the need for the revision, the program director develops the detailed plans for the revision in cooperation with the appropriate college deans and departments.
For new or revised submajor:
Department develops the details for the submajor in cooperation with the college dean. - Associate Vice Chancellor

- Appropriate College Councils

- AAAT

- General Education Committee

- Graduate Education Committee

At this point the provost and chancellor decide whether the revision needs to be submitted to System Administration for further study and approval. Substantive redirection of a degree must be submitted to UW System Administration for approval. Title changes, and new minors, concentrations, and specializations are reported as information only.
