Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps

ROTC1

On the behalf of the College of Management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and the entire cadre and staff of the Department of Military Science, I would like to welcome you to UW-Stout's ROTC "Northwoods Battalion" website. As current and potential members of the Northwoods Battalion, you have already taken a positive step on the road to success by expressing an interest in our program. We look forward to helping you make ROTC one of the best leadership and team-building programs you can take while here at the UW-Stout.

Every aspect of ROTC is designed to give you the organizational skills and real world experiences you need to lead others. Classes are purposely small to help you grow as an individual and gain a sense of camaraderie with fellow students. Courses are taught by the military cadre—ROTC faculty and staff who are proven leaders. They will guide and coach you, working with junior and senior cadets who serve as mentors to students beginning the program. When you complete ROTC, having earned the gold bar of a second lieutenant, you will be able to speak well in public, take charge when necessary, get things done through others, and be counted on to watch over the safety and well-being of those under your charge.

As you negotiate your way around our website, you should be able to find most of the general information regarding our program. The website has been designed to answer any questions you may have. However, if you have any additional questions, or would like more information, please contact a member the Department of Military Science. Better yet, come on over to the Department of Military Science (Communication Technologies Building, Rm. 141) and we can sit and discuss it in person!
