Improving the User Experience

Study the rhetorical theories guiding user experience strategies and learn how to design and implement user-centered research aimed to improve the content and design of documentation and myriad other products. 

  • 6-credit, graduate-level professional development certificate 
  • Students enroll in ENGL-720 Rhetorical Theory and ENGL-730 User-Centered Research 
  • Courses offered each spring semester (January through May
  • Fully online
  • Tuition cost ($525 per credit) regardless of residency and includes textbooks 
  • Coursework transferable into M.S. in Technical and Professional Communication degree  
  • Admission deadline: December 15

Professional development certificates will be awarded to those students who are on Full Academic Standing per Graduate School Policies 2.2.3 (cumulative GPA of 3.0) and have met the certificate requirements. The Graduate School and the certificate program director will certify that all requirements have been met. Students who have successfully completed the professional development certificate will have the credit transcripted and will receive a printed certificate from the UW-Stout Registrar.
