Certificate Requirements

Use a variety of emerging media and investigate how these communication technologies are changing our workplaces, classrooms and social lives.

  • 6-credit, graduate-level professional development certificate 
  • Students enroll in ENGL-740 Visual Rhetoric and ENGL-745 Communication Strategies for Emerging Media
  • Courses offered each fall semester (September through December
  • Fully online
  • Tuition cost ($525 per credit) regardless of residency and includes textbooks
  • Coursework transferable into M.S. in Technical and Professional Communication degree 
  • Admission deadline: July 31

Professional development certificates will be awarded to those students who are on Full Academic Standing per Graduate School Policies 2.2.3 (cumulative GPA of 3.0) and have met the certificate requirements. The Graduate School and the certificate program director will certify that all requirements have been met. A student who successfully completes the professional development certificate will have the credit transcripted and will receive a printed certificate from the UW-Stout Registrar.
