Is this the appropriate degree program for me?
This program is designed for teachers, coordinators, and administrators in programs that prepare people for the world of work; this program prepares individuals for leadership positions in secondary, postsecondary community or technical colleges, higher education, and business and industry.
In what areas will the classes be held?
Courses will be held online or in the following locations: Fond du Lac, Janesville, Kenosha, Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, and Waukesha. It is primarily for those in the regions of Gateway Technical College, Lakeshore Technical College, Madison Area Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, and Waukesha Technical College.
What are the admissions requirements?
To be admitted to the program with full status, an applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and have an overall grade point average of at least 2.75. Generally, an applicant’s bachelor’s degree is in Industrial or Technology Education, Marketing Education, Career and Technical Education, or an equivalent in agriculture, business, home economics, or health or in some technical or business area. The education and work experience of each applicant are evaluated by the program director. Applications lacking necessary educational, scientific, or technical backgrounds, or having a GPA of 2.25, may be admitted on probation. A deficiency in these admission requirements does not preclude admission, but may require completion of additional undergraduate work or increase the amount of graduate credit required to earn the degree.
Is financial aid available?
Financial aid in the form of loans, scholarships and grants is available for degree-seeking students who take a minimum of 5 credits per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer). You can apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or to speak with a financial aid advisor, call UW-Stout’s Financial Aid Office at 715/232-1363 or email finaid@uwstout.edu.

The Ed.S program requires an additional 36 credits beyond the MS degree.
I've already taken course work at another university; can I transfer my credits into the program?
At the master’s level, ten credits may be transferred into the program provided they are from an institution granting graduate degrees, they are graduate credits, and they meet the approval of the program director.
Can I transfer credits toward a Ph.D. program?
