Program Plans and Curriculum

UW-Stout’s MFA in Design is advancing a new model for art and design graduate education that expands course options and content.

Students will take 30 credits in Core Curriculum courses including three credits in design research strategies and culminating with a six credit creative thesis project. Further, students will earn 30 credits in Focus Curriculum courses, divided into 21 credits in art / design studio selectives and 9 credits in project electives.
