Completion of a post-baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition or related degree from an accredited university, intent of completion degree paperwork will be accepted. Course work including the thesis project (if required) must be completed successfully by August 1 prior to the internship start or your slot will be forfeited and you will be replaced by an alternate. If your spot is forfeited you may reapply to the DI the following year.
Verification of completion of the Didactic Program in Dietetics from an approved/accredited undergraduate program.
Overall GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale; GPA 3.0 or above in professional courses.
Recent relevant work experience beyond that required for course requirements (may be either paid or volunteer).
The internship application process requires three steps:
The program is using DICAS, the online centralized internship application, which may be accessed in early December for the Spring Match; e-mail DICASinfo@Dicas.org. The online application must be completed for our program by 11:59 p.m. Central Time by the mid-February deadline set by CADE. The fee to use DICAS is $40 for the first application submitted and $20 for each additional application.
As part of the DICAS application process you will be asked to complete a personal statement in 1,000 words or less. Questions to be addressed in the personal statement include:

When completing the DICAS application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an e-mail address) for each reference. This will trigger an e-mail message requesting completion of a reference form. The form will be completed online. Students applying to more than one program will need to use the same individuals as references for each application.

Note: The University of Wisconsin-Stout Dietetic Internship is Program Code No. 392 on the prioritized list of dietetic internship programs that you will submit to D&D Digital Systems.
There is a $50 computer matching fee.

All applications will be retained by the University of Wisconsin-Stout Dietetic Internship program for one year and then destroyed. No application materials will be returned to applicants.

Ranking decisions are made by majority vote of the Internship Admissions Committee. In the event of a tie vote, input from precepting registered dietitians will be sought, and if necessary, after consultation, the vote of the preceptors will be the tie-breaking vote.
Unless requested at the time of application, application materials will not be returned. Letters of recommendation will be excluded from all returned application material.
Once match is accepted to the DI Program, enroll with the Graduate School as a Special Student (non-degree applicant), in order to register for the 18 credits, 9 credits in the fall and 9 credits in the spring. Contact the Graduate School for instructions or visit the Graduate School website. You must be registered prior to the start of the internship, the third week in August.
