Ed.S. Degree in Career and Technical Education

Thank you for your interest in the Education Specialist Degree in Career and Technical Education. At this time, UW-Stout is not accepting applications for the Ed.S. while the program is being revised to offer additional licensure in educational administration. The revised Ed.S. program will continue to offer the CTE licensure as one option within the degree.  

The projected start date for the revised Ed.S. is Summer Semester, 2016

Both education and industry need leaders who not only relate well with people, but who also are experts in their technical or educational specialty. The Education Specialist Degree in Career and Technical Education at UW-Stout is intended to provide leaders for secondary and postsecondary schools, and in business and industry by providing them with further expertise in teaching, mentoring, coordination, training, and supervision.

Several Ed.S. program graduates hold administrative positions in technical colleges and universities. Several hold upper level position in business and industry. Typical job titles include lead instructor, department chair, associate dean, dean, director, curriculum developer, CTE coordinator, instructional servicers administrator, and telecommunications administrator. Opportunities will vary with the individual institution, company or agency.
