University of Wisconsin - Stout

There is not a cooperative learning or experiential learning requirement within the Manufacturing Engineering Program. However, students are strongly encouraged to consider this activity. Approximately 75 percent of the students in the program do have some form of experiential learning activity, either during the summer as an internship or for a full six month cooperative placement.

These types of experiential learning opportunities are invaluable. All parties involved will benefit. Students will learn what it is really like to work as a manufacturing engineer. Employers benefit by having the opportunity to work with prospective full time employees as well as having students with current up to date engineering knowledge work on projects within their facilities.
