All HRTM majors must complete a two credit co-op/internship as part of their professional studies. Most students complete this requirement between the summer of their junior and senior years. A student may find a job on their own or work through the Career Services office to find employment.

In either event, once hired you should have your employer register with Career Services. This can be done online by having the employer complete a short questionnaire about the work experience. The next step is for the student to attend an orientation session at Career Services. After this session, the student is required to develop a written set of objectives and strategies to achieve those objectives. These must be approved by the student's co-op mentor who will assign dates for interim and final reports. In addition the student must give an oral presentation the next semester that they are on campus.
