Incoming Freshmen

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Rank in the top 40 percent of their class (or for high schools that do not rank, earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale); and

  • Minimum ACT composite score of 23 (or SAT equivalent); and

  • Minimum ACT math score of 24 (or SAT equivalent).

Students who do not meet all of the academic requirements above, but do meet the requirements for admission to the university; will be admitted as an Undeclared student. Undeclared students may apply for a change of major in subsequent semesters.

Transfer Students

You must have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA, and a grade of C or higher for all math and computer science courses already taken to be admitted into the computer science concentration of the game design and development program.  You must also have completed the equivalent of UW-Stout's Math 121 Intro to College Math II (Trigonometry) or a higher level math course with a grade of C or better.



All Applicants

Students not selected for admission to the program may choose to enter the university as "undeclared" and apply for a change of major in subsequent semesters. Acceptance of change of major may be dependent upon available openings in the program.
