The Stout Typographical Society (STS) offers opportunities for students to apply what they have learned in the areas of graphics technology and management. Members develop leadership skills as they provide design and reproduction services to campus and community customers. Activities include managing and operating a production business, hosting social events and sponsoring field trips to industry sites and conferences throughout the nation.

The UW-Stout student chapter of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) advances the science and technology of graphic arts and closely related industries through research, education and training. Students work with companies to research and experiment with new materials, technologies and processes in the graphic communications field.
