Art Admissions Process

Freshman Applicants


Many applicants to the BFA in Art program will be admitted to the university under the regular admission review process.

Applicants pursuing Art—Graphic Design must also submit a portfolio and essay to be reviewed by a committee of Art and Design department faculty, who will determine admission into the major. Students must submit their portfolio and essay by January 6, 2012 and will have a decision in early February 2012.

Internal Change of Major Students


To change your major or to add/drop a second major, you must complete an official Change of Major Form. To learn more, go to the Advisement Center website "Change of Major" page  -- be sure to read all the information under "Art Change of Major/Concentration."
