The priority deadline for the 2015 National Rural Institute is April 3, 2015.
After this date, the scholarship application will still be open. However, all applications will be wait listed and will be awarded on a case by case basis as funds permit based on the order of submission.

Applications are for all scholarship opportunities and applicants do not need to submit more than one application.

Scaife Family Foundation Medical Scholar/Allied Health Professionals Scholarship and Travel Stipend

The Scaife Family Foundation of West Palm Beach, Florida, is funding a minimum of TBD scholarships for medical students or Allied Health professionals interested in practicing in rural America. Assistance includes full/partial conference registration, residence hall double room and on-campus meals. A $500 stipend will also be awarded to each scholarship recipient for travel expenses (on selected tracks only as there are funds available). Registration (Full and Partial) and  travel are available for Track #1 or Track #8 only. Other tracks may be selected but are not eligible for travel reimbursement.

US Department of Justice

The Department of Justice is funding a minimum of TBD scholarships for professionals interested in developing and advancing drug courts. Assistance includes full/partial conference registration, residence hall double room and on-campus meals. A $500 stipend will also be awarded to each scholarship recipient for travel expenses. Attendees must select Track #2 , #3.

Harold E. Hughes Scholarship Fund

This perpetual scholarship fund has been established to provide ongoing recognition and honor of the contributions made to the alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment field in the United States by Harold E. Hughes. Two scholarships are awarded at the end of the conference for the following year. Scholarship covers conference registration only.

Michael E. Campbell Memorial Scholarship

The Michael E. Campbell Scholarship was established in March 2003, to honor Michael's personal and professional contributions to the alcohol and other drug abuse and mental health field. One scholarship will be awarded. Scholarship covers conference registration only.

Larry W. Monson Scholarship

This perpetual scholarship fund was established in memory of Larry Monson. It is awarded annually to a rural professional in the alcohol and drug abuse field who has made strong contributions to the institute. One scholarship will be awarded. Scholarship covers conference registration only.

Char Lusher Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by Char Lusher to help an individual with financial need to attend the institute. One scholarship will be awarded. Scholarship covers conference registration only. (Occasionally two partial scholarships will be awarded.)

National Rural Alcohol and Drug Abuse Network Scholarship (NRADAN)

These scholarships are provided by the National Rural Alcohol and Drug Abuse Network. NRADAN will provide a limited number of scholarships which can be utilized toward registration costs only. These scholarships may range from $100-$545. 

Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)

CSAT will provide 8 travel awards to assist individual with registration and travel to attend the institute. Scholarships will cover conference registration and travel. All track selections are eligible.

Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling: RIchard Stanchfield Memorial Scholarship

The Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling will provide a scholarship in memory of Richard Stanchfield. One scholarship will be awarded. Scholarship covers conference registration only for Track #8.
