Preconference workshops

Two preconference workshops are being offered on Sunday for an additional fee. Individuals who do not plan to attend the rest of the Institute may register for the preconference activities only. The advance registration deadline is May 1, 2014.

Online registration for the 2014 conference is open. Please note that this is a new registration system and you will not have created a username and password yet.


Registration Fees

The low Institute registration fee is all inclusive: lodging, meals, instruction and activities. The standard fee covers instruction, meals from Sunday evening through Thursday breakfast, on-campus lodging (double occupancy), refreshments, community forum and awards luncheon.

  • 2.5 (25 hours) continuing education units through University of Wisconsin-Stout
  • CEU's approved by the Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy


  • Full refunds or cancellation of fees will be granted upon written request through May 9, 2014 This includes cancellation of Saturday night and single room fees.
  • No refunds or cancellation of fees will be made after this date.
  • Substitutions can be made at any time, please note, however, that awarded scholarship funds may not be transferable to substitute attendees.
  • Registrations can be processed up to June 6, 2014, at the increased rate as noted on the registration form.

Travel and Lodging Information

The majority of the conference sessions will be held on campus. Campus and city maps will be sent to you, along with your confirmation materials. While on campus, participants will be able to enjoy campus recreational opportunities, including tennis, racquetball, billiards and indoor and outdoor track for little to no cost. Rental of recreational equipment for bicycling, golf, fishing and basketball playing is available. Purchase of university special events tickets will also be available.

Within walking distance of campus is the Red Cedar Trail, a beautiful walking and biking path; Wilson Park where the historical Ludington Guard Band performs community concerts on Tuesday evenings; and the Mabel Tainter Memorial Theater, a historic 110-year-old Victorian era theater.

Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities

The conference facilities are fully accessible to persons with disabilities. On-campus lodging for handicapped participants is available upon request. Services will be made available to hearing/sensory impaired individuals attending the conference if requested at least three weeks prior to the first day of the conference. Please indicate your needs on the registration form.

Saturday Arrivals

To accommodate reduced fares, on-campus lodging is available on Saturday, June 7, 2014.  If you are interested, check the box for Saturday lodging on the registration form and include the cost in your payment.

On-campus Lodging

On-campus lodging (double occupancy) and meals are included in the standard fee.  Roommates will be assigned if no preference is indicated. Each room has two twin beds with bedding provided. There are shared bathroom facilities and semiprivate showers on each floor. The residence hall rooms are not air conditioned. Single room occupancy is available for Sunday-Wednesday nights. There is wireless Internet in the common areas and in the classrooms. However, in your room you will need an Ethernet cord to access the Internet.


2014 parking will be available in Lot#4 near the intersection of 13th Avenue and Broadway.  An electronic permit will be emailed to all attendees closer to the conference start date. If you do not receive this email, please let us know by emailing (after June 1)

Off-campus Lodging

If you choose to use lodging off-campus, there are several motels/hotels within easy driving distance of the campus. Individuals need to make their own arrangements and provide their own transportation to campus. Costs associated with off-campus lodging during the Institute are not reimbursable for scholarship award purposes.

Travel Information

The nearest airports are the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (1 hour 15 min.) and the Eau Claire Airport (45 min.). There is a commercial shuttle service available. Chippewa Valley Airport Service can be reached at 715.830.9400 or 877.811.4211. You may be able to request campus drop-off and pickup by contacting Chippewa Valley Airport Service. Major car rental companies are available at both airports. While attending the institute all activities are within walking distance.
