WiFAB Retreat


  Now that you have fab lab equipment, what do you do with it?

  • Examine & understand the nature of fab labs
  • Facilitate pedagogically sound design & instruction for all ages
  • Identify opportunities for redesign through reverse engineering 
  • Explore the iterative nature of design: brainstorming, drawing, modeling, testing, prototyping
  • Use simple problems to address age appropriate STEAM concepts and skills  

  June 25-29, 2018 - UW-Stout Campus. Registration opening January 1.

WiFAB Retreat

  • Understand how a fab lab can be used to support multi-disciplinary learning

  • Experience the engineering design process in solving real-life problems

  • Inspire your students with modeling and simulation with curriculum that meets the standards, develops teamwork and problem solving skills

  • Create "design thinking portfolios" featuring sketches, testing data, prototypes, and presentation materials

  • Develop design thinking experiences for students

  • Join a new professional learning community dedicated to innovative teaching. Beta test the WiFAB Cooperative Portal, designed to serve teachers. Demo features and see what others are doing.

To better incorporate this model at your school, you are encouraged to send teams
of two to three. Discounts will be applied for teams of two or more.
Space is limited.
