Digital Fabrication: A Foundation for Curricular Integration of FAB LABs with STEM Education

Digital fabrication is changing manufacturing, logistics and retail systems and STEM education will be profoundly affected by these societal shifts.  Digital fabrication will change the employment outlook for your students. This one-day workshop will provide the necessary tools, curriculum materials and project ideas.

Topics will include:

  • How FAB LABs help learners meet Common Core Mathematics Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and explore STEM career pathways
  • Building momentum and understanding with teachers and the community
  • Important stages in the development of a fabrication laboratory
  • Now we have a FAB LAB...how do STEM faculty use it to enhance learning?
  • How can my school build/engage in regional/national networks?
  • Presenters are Scott Simenson, Director of the Digital Fabrications Lab at Century College, White Bear Lake, MN and Mike Cropp, Manager of the Discovery Center FAB LAB at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Cost - $150/participant.  
Fees include breaks, lunch, instructional materials and .4 CEU
