Specific campus areas as identified by year will be evaluated for new landscaping needs. All campus landscaping will be planned and performed within the guidelines of the campus grounds planning philosophy document.
Other criteria used to make decisions regarding changes in landscaping will be based on the following:
- Budget and funding available to pay for changes.
- Safety needs of the campus and community environment.
- Plant lifespan, deterioration, or damage of existing plantings and trees.
- Needs expressed by building managers.
- Overall campus changes that may dictate a need for planting changes.
- Plantings creating a negative impact on buildings or the environment.
- Exterior Furniture needs.
Specifics regarding any of these changes will be presented to the Campus Physical Development Committee, and written on the Grounds website prior to installation. Any questions regarding these landscaping changes can be addressed to Lynn Peterson, Grounds supervisor. This plan does not supersede any pruning, shrub or tree removal or small changes necessary to perform the regular duties of maintaining UW-Stout Grounds.
