University of Wisconsin - Stout

Meeting, Conference Parking

It is essential that guests invited to meeting/conferences are provided with parking assistance by those departments/faculty/staff who invite them. Only you know who your guests are and when they will be on campus. One of the most troublesome public relations problems the university faces occurs when a guest is invited to campus, and receives a citation because parking arrangements were not made.

Your Responsibilities for Meeting/Conference Parking:

Parking Capacity for Meetings/Conferences:

Guest parking permits are limited and are provided on a first-request, first-get basis.  Requests can be received several months in advance to assist you in your planning.

Car-pooling, use of buses, a large on-campus/student participation will result in our ability to better accommodate parking for larger meetings/conferences.

During summer session, and school breaks, much larger conferences can be provided on-campus parking. Call Parking Services at 232-1792 to discuss these larger numbers.

Larger conferences may need to arrange for off-campus parking with a shuttle service to campus. Parking Services can assist you in locating off-campus parking areas, and the Fleet Vehicle office can assist you with shuttle vehicles.

Parking Areas for Meetings/Conferences:

Meetings/Conferences are typically being assigned to Lot 29, south of the Student Center.

More, and possibly more convenient, parking areas are available during the summer and school breaks.

Larger conferences have used several parking areas throughout the community for shuttle lots. Those areas include, north Menomonie shopping malls, the National Guard Armory, the Dunn County Rec Park, and shuttles from local motels.

How to arrange Meeting/Conference Parking:

Send your parking request via the Meeting/Conference request form.

The best practice is to contact Parking Services during the initial planning process for the conference, and include parking information in any literature provided to conference attendees, including publicity and registration materials.
