9:00 am: Family Fun Walk/Run

Multipurpose Room, Sports & Fitness Center

Come enjoy this for FUN 5K run/walk with your family and friends. The 5K route will take participants on a tour around Stout’s beautiful campus. This fun course offers a variety of elevation to provide an excellent start to anyone’s family weekend Saturday. Coveted Intramural championship shirts will be given out for the following categories: Best Male Student Time, Best Female Student Time, Best Male Family Member Time, and Best Female Family Member Time. Registration is $3 per participant until April 9th or $5 per participant the day of the race. To pre-register please visit the Urec Office located at 41 Sports and Fitness Center. Join the Stout Hand Drumming Club to learn about African Culture & rhythmic grooves from Michael Markus. Drums are provided and no prior experience is needed.

10:00 am - 11:00 am: Fab Lab Tour

132 Applied Arts

The Fab Lab offers open access for students to utilize digital fabrication equipment and solve their challenges. The Fab Lab has five core technologies (laser engraver, vinyl cutter, 3D printer, CNC router and mini-mills) as well as additional digital fabrication equipment available for use. The tour will discuss the technologies and show examples of the processes.

10:00 am - 2:00 pm: Ceramics Guild Pottery Sale

UW-Stout Ceramics Guild will be setting up in the Memorial Student Center for a functional pottery sale. There will be an array of handcrafted pieces that will go well in anyone’s kitchen. All the work sold are dishwasher and microwavable safe. Cash and checks are accepted.

10:30 am -11:30 am: Coffee & Conversation with the Chancellor

Huff’s Lounge, Memorial Student Center

Join Chancellor Bob Meyer for a cup of coffee and conversation. Chancellor Meyer will speak on the latest developments of campus, answer questions from families, and take time to mingle with the crowd. This will be a great opportunity to talk with the Chancellor and other UW-Stout students and families.

The author of a new book about the history of UW-Stout will hold a signing from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8. Jerome Poling, who wrote, “An Idea Comes of Age: UW-Stout, 1891-2016” will sign copies at Stoutfitters on the lower level of the student center. The book is the first full-length history of UW-Stout, chronicling 125 years. The store also is stocking the book for anyone interested in purchasing it who can’t make the signing.

Fashion Without Fabric has become a yearly sensation, At the show, the audience can take pleasure in the atmosphere and entertainment of a fashion show unlike any other. Stout's own art and design students will employ creativity to produce unique fashions using anything and everything but fabric.
