Conference 2008: Call for Presenters
The Northwest Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center (NWMOC) proudly announces the Manufacturing Advantage: Resources for Innovation and Growth Conference. University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University, will host this conference on May 21, 2008, in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
We invite you to participate in this exciting event by becoming a conference presenter. Our goal is to develop hands-on simulations and demonstrations for attendees to learn-by-doing, in addition to active breakout sessions including panel discussions and other stimulating topics and activities. This is an outstanding opportunity for you to showcase the resources you have available to manufacturers, while providing them with tools to take back to their companies and put to immediate use to improve their business.
Presenter applications (pdf) or (doc) format for your convenience. Please return your presentation application by January 4, 2008 to Joni Geroux, 620 W. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701
or E-mail it to: jgeroux3@cvtc.edu.
If you have any questions, please call 715.874.4610.
Tentative Schedule of Events
- Morning Sessions: HANDS-ON simulations and demonstrations. This may be ongoing demonstrations, simulations running every hour, or whatever works best, the morning will be an open format. Get the attendees involved and excited! This may be a process improvement simulation, demonstration of portable training units, working in the packaging center, exploring nanotechnology, the possibilities are endless!
- Luncheon: Lunch & Keynote Speaker – Doug Hall
- Afternoon Sessions: Small group opportunities for workshops/meetings to talk more in depth with the manufacturers about available resources and how they can get started. For example, the Wisconsin Procurement Institute will be utilizing a computer lab to get companies started setting up their online registration for government contracting. Begin providing them with some tools they can take away with them that day and put to use when they return to their company! These sessions will be scheduled as concurrent breakout sessions/workshops.
