University of Wisconsin - Stout

The Working with Young Children Online Early Childhood Education Program is composed of a series of courses based on the textbook, Working With Young Children by Judy Herr, Ed. D., 2004 Edition (ISBN: 978-1-59070-128-7, formerly 1-59070-128-3) and offered through Outreach Services, University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin (715) 232-2793 or 1-800-45-STOUT.

The Working with Young Children on-line early Childhood Education program is designed to enhance the training and knowledge base for early childhood educators and administrators.  The early childhood professional can earn continuing education units (CEU) by completing educational units and demonstrating competency of the materials covered for either initial or renewal certification.*

One continuing education unit is equivalent to ten training hours.  Each section provides 20 hours (2 CEUs) of training. There are a total of five sections. Competency is demonstrated by completing a written test for each section of the training with 85% accuracy. The program in total consists of five sections.  An individual may register for 1 or more sections, depending on their educational needs. You are given six months to complete from the date of registration whether you register for one section or all five. Each section contains 1-11 chapters.  A written test will be required at the end of each chapter with a combined total of 85% accuracy to successfully complete the Section.
