What Do I do with the Mad that I Feel Challenging Behaviors Where Do We Begin

This workshop provides a comprehensive, practical approach based on child development principles for helping young children manage difficult feelings and develop self-regulation. It includes two clear, well-organized engaging sessions that build on each other, magnifying the effects of each, and increasing participants understanding, retention, and expertise. Extensive materials, videos of real situations and stimulating discussion starters will be shared, making the workshop both popular and exceptionally effective.

Return to work re-energized—and more able to help young children manage anger and learn self-control.

Session I: What Do You Do With the Mad That You Feel? Helping children deal with their angry feelings.
This training helps providers and teachers gain insight into children’s anger and learn ways to help them develop self-control. Attendees will be introduced to the developmental stages that lead to self-control and learn about activities to strengthen each stage. Focused, interactive and practical, the program also offers strategies to use when a child is angry.

Session II: Challenging Behaviors : Where Do We Begin?
This training workshop begins by taking a closer look at children who have more serious problems with self-control and self-regulation. Through video interviews, you’ll hear from early childhood educators who have been able to move on from feeling discouraged and frustrated, to finding ways to connect with a child, making an important difference that can last a lifetime.
