WTCS Summer 2010 Immersion Experience

UW-Stout is offering a unique Summer Immersion Experience for new technical college instructors this summer. It is designed for individuals who need to complete all seven Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) certification courses. Individuals engage in an intense study of career and technical teaching areas including curriculum, evaluation, diversity, educational psychology, teaching methods, guidance, and principles of career and technical education.

*Before being 5-year certified, a full-time instructor must have two years of teaching experience and a part-time instructor needs to have 8 semesters of teaching.

UW-Stout WTCS Immersion Student using ropes courseThe Immersion Experience will also include participation in the low ropes course, a cross-cultural field trip to Minneapolis to visit the Somali Mall, Latino Mall, and the Global Marketplace.  Students will deliver their micro-teaching lessons in Millennium Hall using one of the distance education classrooms.
