The Office of International Education welcomes all members of the community to participate in the international program at UW-Stout. There are many ways to be involved:

  • International Friendship Program  — This program allows international students and Americans to connect in meaningful relationships during the international student's time of study at the UW-Stout. Local friends assist with international student adjustment to American life and culture. Taking an international student to a football or basketball game, inviting them for dinner every other week or a car ride to Wal-Mart, would be simple examples. This is not a home-stay program.

  • International Speakers  —  The Office of International Education maintains a list of students who are excited and willing to speak to classes and/or non-profit organizations about their home culture. If you would like to invite an international student to speak about their culture, please contact us at 715-232-2132.

  • Volunteers  —  If you are a non-profit organization or school hosting an event that requires volunteers, international students are always looking for ways to be involved. This event may be added to our mailing list where students can contact you if they are interested in signing up. Please email or call us at 715-232-2132.
