Take2 Newscast … Welcome to Take2 at UW-Stout weekly news update. Hi, I’m … Two little words — spring break — sound so awesome this time of year. It’s one week and counting until the break begins, but there are plenty of opportunities to make this a good week too. On Friday, don’t miss the free screenings of “Skyfall.” The latest James Bond thriller can be seen at 6 and 9 p.m. in room 210 of Applied Arts, courtesy of Blue Devil Productions. This weekend, four Blue Devils have qualified for the national D3 indoor track and field championships in Illinois. They are Zach Anderson, Patrick Jenkins, Andrea Krueger and Jessika Smith. Congratulations and good luck athletes! Speaking of the weekend, don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time begins so set your clocks forward an hour Saturday night. On Monday, Stout’s tech ed program will host the always-fun and quirky Rube Goldberg Machine Contest for 13 high school teams. Check out their cool machines from 10:30 to 3:30 in the Great Hall of the student center. How complicated can it be to hammer a nail? Come and find out. On Thursday, March 14, two entertainment options await. Blue Devil Productions’ famous Open Mic night is at 8 p.m. at the Terrace. Or, the touring folk-punk band Boiled in Lead will be in concert at 7:30 Thursday at the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts on Main Street. Finally this week, have you heard about Stout’s latest job placement report for graduates? According to Career Services, 97 percent of graduates from 2011-12 either have jobs or are working on another degree. And 80 percent of them found work related to their majors. 28 of the 44 majors at Stout had 100 percent placement. Starting salaries for graduates are up too. That’s what I call good news. See you next week Stout!
