More than 200 middle school and high school students from around the region are scheduled to compete Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 19-20, in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Stars regional conferences at UW-Stout.
The Region 2 event will be Wednesday. Region 2 schools include Alma Center, Augusta, Boyceville, Colfax, Durand, Eleva-Strum, Eau Claire Memorial, Eau Claire North, Eau Claire Delong Middle School, Menomonie middle and high school, Thorp and Whitehall.
The Region 1 Southern Half event will be Thursday. Schools include Amery, Bruce, Cameron, Clayton, Clear Lake, Baldwin-Woodville, Barron, Osceola, Rice Lake, St. Croix Falls and Unity.
The daylong events will be held at the Memorial Student Center and Heritage Hall.Competition categories include culinary creations, focus on children, recycle and redesign, professional speaking, life event planning, job interview, applied technology and many more. Winners will advance to the state competition March 31 to April 2 in Wisconsin Dells.
