Touring rock band The Maine to perform Nov. 2 at student center

The Maine, a five-man rock band that recently released its fourth full-length album, will perform following an opening act Thursday, Nov. 2, in the Great Hall of the Memorial Student Center at UW-Stout.

The doors open at 8 p.m., and the show begins at 8:30.

The band was founded in Tempe, Ariz., in 2007. Its latest album, “Lovely Little Lonely,” was released in April. One of its earlier albums, “Forever Halloween,” reached No. 39 on the Billboard charts.

The Maine has performed nationally and internationally, including at the music festivals South by Southwest, Bamboozle and the Vans Warped Tour.

The band is stopping at UW-Stout as part of a national tour. Leading up to the UW-Stout event, The Maine is scheduled to play in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Calif., Salt Lake City, Chicago, Denver, St. Louis and Lawrence, Kan. The group then plays in Cleveland Nov. 3 and Buffalo, N.Y., Nov. 4.

The concert is being coordinated and hosted by Blue Devil Productions, a student-run events and activities organization.


Through Wednesday, Nov. 1, tickets are $10 for UW-Stout students and $15 for the public. The day of the show, the prices are $15 and $20, respectively.
