School of Art and Design Senior Shows, year-end exhibit May 6

Students in the School of Art and Design will help wrap up the spring semester Friday, May 6, at UW-Stout with the opening of an art exhibit and the Senior Shows.

Friday is the last day of final exams for the semester. Commencement is Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

From 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, an opening reception will be held for the Year End Juried Student Art Show at Furlong Gallery in Micheels Hall. The exhibit, featuring senior student work from the semester, will run through Friday, Sept. 16.

The opening reception will include awards. This year’s juror is Paul DeLong, professor emeritus in printmaking from UW-Stout.

From 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, the Senior Shows will be held throughout the Applied Arts Building. The shows feature dozens of student projects from the various art and design majors.

The exhibit and Senior Shows are free and open to the public.
