13th annual RockFest indoor rock-climbing tournament is scheduled Saturday,
March 1, on the 30-foot indoor climbing walls in the Sports and Fitness Center
Competition begins at 10:30 a.m. The finals, featuring the top three female and male competitors in intermediate and advanced divisions, begin at 4:30 p.m.
The theme of this year's event is That 70s Competition. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
RockFest is the fourth event out of six in the Wisconsin Indoor Climbing Series. Previous events have been held at UW-Superior, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Oshkosh.
Other remaining events are April 5 at UW-La Crosse and April 12 at UW-Eau Claire. The top team and top male and female are crowned, based on points, when the series ends.
RockFest is sponsored in part by the Stout Association of Outdoor Recreation Education. After the competition, SAORE will show a Reel Rock Film Tour movie at 7 p.m. in room 210 of the Applied Arts Building.
Contestants with a RockFest shirt can receive a half-price meal at the Waterfront Bar and Grill, 512 Crescent Ave.
