Chair of national lodging organization to speak on campus

The chair of the American Hotel & Lodging Association Board of Directors is scheduled to speak Wednesday, March 21, at UW-Stout.

Nancy Johnson will talk at 3 p.m. in Ballroom C of the Memorial Student Center. She will be the guest of the student chapter of the AH&LA, a group from the hotel, restaurant and tourism program.

Johnson works for Carlson Hotels and is executive vice president of Midscale Development, Americas, for Carlson’s Rezidor Hotel Group, including Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson.

She previously led the Franchise Operations division for full-service hotels and has served as executive vice president and brand leader for the company’s select service brands. She has been named one of the 200 Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel magazine.

Johnson also is founding chair of the Women in Lodging Council for AH&LA and is on the International Hotel and Restaurant Association Board of Directors.
