Students on stage, in concert hall, cooking salsa this week

The spring semester is winding down, with two weeks of classes remaining, but student activities still are in full swing.

Tuesday: Male students will vie for the title of Stoutman 2013 in a pageant put on by the Delta Zeta sorority at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the student center. Men will compete in talent, swimsuit, formal wear and interview categories. Admission is free. Proceeds from raffles will help benefit a muscular dystrophy charity.

CommencementWednesday: Jazz from Harvey will feature the student Jazz Orchestra at 7 p.m. in Harvey Hall Theatre. Tickets are available online, at the student center or at the door. Read more about the concert here.

Thursday: Graduating seniors are invited to a Senior Social, sponsored by the Alumni Association, from 5-7 p.m. in the Cedarwood and Maplewood rooms of the student center. Students can network, hear success stories about UW-Stout graduates and sign up for prizes. Commencement for undergraduates is Saturday, May 11.

Thursday: A Salsa Cook-Off competition, sponsored by the student Food Science Club, will begin at 6 p.m. in room 232 of Heritage Hall. The event is part of Earth Week activities involving several student groups. For the schedule, click here.
