University of Wisconsin Stout | Wisconsin's Polytechnic University
That’s how employers describe UW-Stout graduates. Our innovative, career-focused degrees combine applied learning and the liberal arts.
The third annual UW-Stout fundraiser Sips for Scholarships will be held at 5 p.m. Friday in the ballrooms of the Memorial Student Center.
The event, open to the community, includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.
Proceeds are used to provide $1,000 School of Education scholarships to one undergraduate and one graduate student each year. Two students will receive scholarships at this year’s event.
“SIPS was created to help students finance their education at a time when costs are increasing and other means of support are diminishing. It is our hope that these scholarships will help reduce barriers that prevent some from achieving their dream,” said Brian McAlister, director of the School of Education.
Scholarship winners are chosen based on academic performance, professional activities, extracurricular activities, community involvement and other factors.
