Career and Technology Education Conference Oct. 18-19

University of Wisconsin-Stout and Gateway Technical College will co-host the Career and Technology Education Conference Thursday and Friday, Oct. 18-19.

The conference will be held at Gateway Technical College campus sites, which are within 10-15 minutes of each other in the Racine and Kenosha areas.

Brian McAlisterThe conference is for grade 6-12 teachers in technology education, career and technical education and science education. It also is for educators interested in Project Lead the Way.

UW-Stout alumnus Bryan Albrecht, president of Gateway Technical College, and Brian McAlister, director of the School of Education at UW-Stout, will provide opening remarks. Speakers from Marquette University and the Milwaukee School of Engineering also will present.

An opening reception and tours of Gateway’s Manufacturing and Engineering Technology Center, iMET, will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Friday’s schedule includes exhibits, seven breakout sessions and three roundtable discussions and panels.

A special registration rate is available through Tuesday, Sept. 18. The cost covers instruction, conference materials, continental breakfast, refreshments and lunch. A student registration rate is available with proof of student status at time of registration.
