January 28, 2013

The student show is by Trevor Knapp, of Green Bay, and Diana Witcher, of Menomonie. It features paintings, prints and sculptures. The show runs through Thursday, Jan. 31, in Gallery 209, room 209, of the Applied Arts Building.

Trevor Knapp's artwork Knapp and Witcher are the 2012-13 Bud and Betty Micheels Artist-in-Residence artists. The grant program provides a stipend and designated work space to each student. It is made possible in part through funds donated by the late William “Bud” Micheels, former UW-Stout chancellor, and his wife.

At the end of the academic term, artists each donate an item for the university’s permanent art collection.

The annual faculty art exhibit features works by 30 art and design instructors. The exhibit runs through Thursday, Feb. 21, in Furlong Gallery.

As part of the exhibit, four professors will discuss their works from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. on successive Mondays beginning today, Jan. 28, at the gallery. The first speaker will be Joseph Velasquez. The others will be Alex DeArmond, Ursula Husted and Masako Onodera.
