Students in UW-Stout’s School of Art and Design and from computer science are wrapping up the semester in style this week with several demonstrations and shows.
Classes end Friday, Dec. 14. Final examinations are Dec. 17-21.
Industrial design: Students in the Product Interface Design class have been working with Trek bicycles on an industry collaborative project. They will present their projects to Trek officials from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Micheels Hall Atrium.
The 24 students visited Trek headquarters in Waterloo in October to help develop ideas for “a digital device that leverages technology and addresses needs of bicyclists,” according to Associate Professor Jennifer Astwood.
The 24 projects address such needs as safety, clothing and commuting.
Students have collaborated with several UW-Stout alumni who work at Trek.
Game launch: Students in the game design and development program will host a video game launch from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in the Great Hall of the student center. Games developed by students in classes this semester, as well as independently, will be on display and available to play.
